It was another incredible adventure in Tanzania this summer! This year’s Climb for Kujali team was a fun-loving and adventurous bunch! Seven of the climbers — Nate Kraynak, Jeff Bator, Lisa Coniglio, Katie Brooks, Kimberly Becker, Rahman Miller, and Kyle Laudadio — are employees of event-sponsor United States Liability Insurance (USLI), and three participants — Susan Smedal, Rob Tell, and Amy Mesick — are employees of several USLI client companies, including BKS Partners, The Merle B. Grindle Agency, and R-T Speciality Insurance services.
The team spent three days in Dar-es-Salaam prior to their Mt. Kilimanjaro Trek, enjoying a day at Kujali’s new Youth Resource Center with Kujali’s students, learning about its programs, impact, and vision for disadvantaged youth in Tanzania, and another two days enjoying the beautiful coastal city of Dar-es-Salaam.
The team departed for Moshi on Monday, August 12th and left on Tuesday for the 7-day Mt. Kilimanjaro trek. All ten participants successfully reached base camp on day 5 of the climb. Due to altitude sickness, one climber safely returned to the gate before reaching the summit.
Congratulations to the team for a wonderful adventure — thank you so much for joining us!
