Nature-based Learning
and Climate Education
Many young people are concerned about the health of our planet. Let's engage them in deep and immersive learning, and as solution-builders for a sustainable future.
At Kujali, we believe a more sustainable future depends on young people leading the way.
Nature-based learning and climate education can play a powerful role in helping young people "connect the dots" between ecosystems and economic systems, and between their inner worlds and all the natural world has to teach us.

“Narrating Local Climate Change: Telling Current And Future MA Stories With Eco Memoir and Eco Speculation”
Kujali has been awarded a grant through Mass Humanities to support the design of a free grade 6-12 curriculum unit rooted in the humanities, environmental justice, and place-based education. The unit focuses on engaging students in writing eco-memoir and eco-speculative fiction based on their exploration of local climate change issues.
Student Resource Spotlight:
Part of the Mass Humanities grant award involves developing student-friendly resources for engaging with key concepts and competencies related to climate education.
In this "Big Ideas" infographic, we illustrate and define five key concepts in climate education–climate change, climate mitigation, climate adaptation, climate justice, and climate resilience– and the relationships among them.
